Hi everyone,
I’m very happy to let you know that my new group show opens at Red Gallery on October 17th.
Red Gallery’s Suzi Stevens:
”We look forward to turning the Gallery space into a floral 'explosion'… After this tough year, it will be wonderful to celebrate the start of Summer with such an uplifting Show”.
We would love to see you at the opening - 5.30pm 17 October 2024. The show runs until 16 November.
An invitation to my next exhibition, ‘Queens Greens’; which opens 24 September in the McKee Gallery at the Suter Gallery, Nelson.
Hello! Summer school holidays have been in busy, noisy, happy full swing.
I've barely picked up a brush! I am now officially chomping at the bit to get into the studio and start some work on some exciting new projects and paintings.
These are all little (25 x 25cm) colour studies that serve me as a guide for colour and composition for my larger paintings. I currently have three big landscapes on the go that speak to this.
These paintings are great, affordable original artworks.
Hello lovely people!
I'm excited to let you know that the first of my original paintings are now available in Auckland. Endemic World on Ponsonby Road have four small works for sale and I will be sending more paintings North just as soon as I can finish them.
Endemic World has a fantastic selection of original art available, as well as beautiful affordable art prints and a great website for online shopping. I'm super pleased to be working with them.
Meanwhile, the studio is full of new works on the go, as I complete some commissions and explore some new ideas. Stay tuned!
Thanks & best wishes,
Georgie.
Hello Hello,
I'm excited to be preparing for a new solo exhibition at RED Gallery + Design Store here in Nelson, NZ. It opens at 5.30pm on Friday 18th May and I would love to see you there.
Suzi and Ant at RED Gallery have been hugely supportive of my work since taking over the gallery a year ago. It's always thrilling for me to call in to their beautiful space and sup on a delicious coffee and see my paintings on their walls.
I've been working on this collection of new paintings for months. It is a culmination of thoughts, walks and studies of my local landscape and still life vignettes.
The studio is packed with colour studies, empty paint tubes; linens and canvases. It is a thrilling time for me - as the energy in the studio heightens leading up to the exhibition opening night.
Follow my BelleHawk Instagram feed to see all the sneak peeks of me at work and new paintings in progress. All exhibition works are available through the gallery, please call them on 035482170 for any enquiries. Or feel free to drop me a line anytime.
Best wishes,
Georgie.
This year I am studying abstracted portraits and still-life works, monochromatic works and looking at how to incorporate printed textiles into my paintings. An age-old approach. I can't wait.
In the studio I'm stretching new swathes of linen over frames and dreaming up new colour palettes. Wonderful stuff.
Also a return to my textile design roots as I incorporate some of my original drawings and paintings into new pattern designs that will be printed on fabric and turned into who-knows-what. Something delicious. I'm thinking silk scarves and linen totes... Suggestions welcome!
I hope you enjoy browsing the website and viewing my paintings. Original artworks make original gifts! An artwork is a completely unique piece for your space and can be enjoyed for many years.
Hi All!
I'm happy to let all of you Canterbury folk know that I have a little exhibition lined-up for Christchurch at the end of this month. Opens October 26th 6pm.
I'm exhibiting alongside Christchurch artist, Harriet Millar at a private home on Papanui Road. The idea is that this is an informal setting to view the paintings, enjoy a glass wine and a catch up with friends. Please feel free to bring a friend and enjoy some art. All paintings for sale on the night and available to take home.
I will have some small paintings on ply, colour studies squares, as well as some larger landscapes on canvas. 10% of all proceeds go to the Uganda Orphanage Charity Fund.
Hope to see all of you locals there!
Georgie
